tragic/beautiful

Stolen from AJS:

There was once a little prince with a magic crown.

An evil sorcerer kidnapped the prince, locked him high in a tower, and took away his voice.

There was a window with iron bars in the tower’s cell.

The prince kept smashing his head against the bars–hoping that someone would hear the ringing of his crown against iron–and rescue him.

The crown made the most beautiful sound that anyone had ever heard–you could hear the song for miles and miles–it was so beautiful that the townspeople wished they could embrace the air.

They never looked for the prince.

He was never rescued from the tower.

But the sound he made filled everything up with beauty.
