Technological Ballerinas
Is there a disconnect in the connection, or am I an email elitist?
I know some people that are very well-spoken. But that certainly doesn’t mean they’re well-typed. This is usually not a direct correlation, but I have to wonder: how hard is it to type the two extra letters in the word “you” rather than lazily put “U” in an e-mail or instant message? I know that the way of the world is leaning towards texting and text shorthand is becoming more and more prevalent, but even then — I cringe when reading a text that says “How r u?” I almost don’t want to respond.
Almost. But I do, because I’m not rude. Or maybe because I have a text messaging compulsion. Either way. But don’t let me catch you using more than one or two exclamation points (!!) or question marks (??) in an email, because then you’ll never get a response.
