What do you do with a BA in English?

Write about your observations on the train like a proper New Yorker.

it’s like i’m creating the video for this song. the guitar strums against the backdrop of a cold rainy day. the lyrics dance across the train tracks. and my attention is brought to the woman standing outside, cradling a baby. i hoped he wasn’t crying. and i hoped he wasn’t hungry. the song changed and after a moment, i found it increasingly difficult to listen to synthesized music while looking out onto such a real world. “don’t be afraid, don’t be ashamed” kept repeating over the keyboarding and i changed the song again.

a raindrop streaked across the window in a perfect teardrop shape. i wiped my cheek as if it were my own.
