Meredith Grey Monologuism
ABC.com is a Godsend. I had no idea about the beauty of watching television from the computer up until now. This even beats out TV shows on my iPod! So, Grey’s Anatomy…
- “Really Old Guy” = awesome. But we all totally knew that when Izzie went back into his room to ask for advice, he’d be dead in his chair.
- Are we happy that Meredith is finally less bitter and is taking Lexie under her wing? Maybe her secret affair with Derek is enough negativity.
- I love Katherine Heigl and her character, but every time I watch this show, I can’t help but to think about the old made-for-TV Disney movie “Wish on a Star”.
- I’m glad that Bailey is done with being bitter, so that she and Callie can start working together instead of against each other. And maybe now that Bailey has conceded, she can go back to her real job: tellin’ it like it is. (See also: her diatribe about how the new “old” intern was just in the way. [I forget his name.])
- The nonsense-talking teenager seems to have had the same condition as my mother (fluid build-up in the spinal chord) but she never talked like that. And the whole needle-in-eyeball thing? Totally skeezed me out.
- And the end! Alex is a total asshole… definitely in the same way my ex was. And the George-Callie cliffhanger. Whatever will happen? Stay tuned.
- Finally, this week’s Meredith Grey Monologuism:
Doctors give patients a number of things. We give them medicine, we give them advice, and most of the time, we give them our undivided attention. But by far, the hardest thing you can give a patient is the truth. The truth is hard. The truth is awkward. And very often, the truth hurts. I mean, people say they want the truth, but do they really?
…the truth is painful. Deep down, nobody wants to hear it, especially when it hits close to home. Sometimes we tell the truth because the truth is all we have to give. Sometimes we tell the truth because we need to say it out loud to really hear it for ourselves. Sometimes, we tell the truth because we just can’t help ourselves. And sometimes, we tell them because we owe them at least that much.
